Return to Grady's Mission

Our journey to Vancouver Canada began on August 4th 2012

 Look out at Stanley Park

Raccoons were eating right out of people's hands even though...
these signs were right next to them.
Stanley Park reminded me of Central Park in New York.   It is hugh.  It has a bike/jogger path all the way around the exterior and the interior is filled with beautiful hiking trails and picnic areas.  There are three beaches and a lot of people.  We rented bikes one day and rode around the park.

The beginning of our long Sunday walk...we started out smiling.

I loved the moss that grew on everything.

We went to Stanley Park on Sunday to stroll around.  We ended up doing a much longer walk around Stanley Park than planned.  We started up on top at the look-out.  We wandered on a trail and ended up on this path that went around the island.  By the time we realized that we couldn't get back up to the top because of the cliffs it was too far to turn back and too far to go forward.  We talked Dad into running ahead and getting the car and meeting us at the nearest beach.  A few days later we rented bikes and did the same path again and with bikes it wasn't so bad.
The city has a really unique look....all white buildings.  It reminded us of that movie "Inception."

This was a hugh old tree that was hollow inside.  This is a picture from above and the next picture is taken so you can see her inside the trunk.
This forest was so enchanting that I expected to see fairies and trolls any moment.

Most every business has the Canadian Maple leaf somewhere in their logo.
Granville Island was very unique and fun.  We loved wandering through the marketplace.

 Canadian Mailboxes are pretty colorful.

Lake Powell 2012

What can I say about Lake Powell....I have been going there every year for probably 40+ years and I still love it.  For a family vacation there is nothing to compare.  The beauty of the orange landscape with the beautiful blue sky and water is breathtaking.  The days are filled with non-stop swimming, skiing, reading, eating, cliff jumping, naps, more eating, board games,  jet skiing, tricks off the slide on the houseboat and trips to the marina for a cold ice cream cone.  There is no better bonding time and I love every minute of it.

 Richard and Brendon
It's never too early to go to Lake Powell.  Baby Brendon is only 7 months old and baby Eden is 17 months and both are loving the water.

Pineview, Utah July 2012

Thanks to my great brother DeWayne, I was able to go to Pineview and spend some time with my brothers and sister and their families in July.  DeWayne shared his campsite with me when I was not able to get one.  Nearly everyone was able to spend a few hours sometime during the week doing some boating, swimming and soaking up the sunshine.

Our line of defense from the sun!

 Grandpa just chillin'!

This was totally cool!  These neon stick figures walked through our campground.  They used glow sticks taped to their black clothes.
